IF YOU *THINK* YOU CAN... (thoughts become things)

Smiling woman in a purple shirt with glasses on her head against a green tree background. Text: "IF YOU THINK YOU CAN... (thoughts become things)".

Hi gorgeous,

What gets clearer the older I get is that, in life, you largely get what you expect. Or to put it more simply - your thoughts (and beliefs) become things.

Now - you may have heard this many times before, but perhaps you didn't pay much attention to it. After all, most of our thoughts are unconscious - so what can you do about it?

Well, quite a lot, as it turns out.

The basic principle is this:

  • Your thoughts create your beliefs

  • Your beliefs create your feelings

  • Your thoughts, beliefs and feelings create your experiences

  • You can change your thoughts, beliefs and feelings - and therefore change your experiences

As ever, there are layers to this learning. And I find that once you get competent in one layer, the Universe provides you with 'situations' that make you go even deeper.

To be specific - and personal - an old mantra of mine has been popping up lately - "I can't." Oof, those two little words are so powerful!

I'm sure you've heard that old Henry Ford quote: "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right."

You get what you expect. If you believe you can't, you'll feel hobbled and incapable. And if you feel that way, you won't be able to do a thing. Inability becomes your experience

However, if you choose to tell yourself "I can do this", and if you charge it up with the belief that you are capable, you'll feel able, and you'll be able to do the thing. Strength, ability, and achievement become your experience.

As ever, it's a choice. Not necessarily an easy one, but a choice nonetheless.

But there's no need to be afraid of your thoughts - a passing negative thought doesn't create a negative reality. It's when that thought gets repeated over and over that you start making an impression.

So if you've been repeating that same negative thought for a while - and it's reflected in your day-to-day life - then you'll need to practice that more helpful thought a lot.

Keep choosing that more helpful belief. And choose it again. And again. On repeat, till it starts to be reflected in your reality.

And I'll pass on some wisdom that I received around this, that goes one layer deeper. Rather than telling yourself 'I can' or 'I can't do this', try: "I am doing this".

'I am' completely removes the question of can or can't.

Because the reality is that you're probably already getting on with it, finding it hard, and wishing it would stop. But babes, you ARE DOING IT.

(This is as much a message for me as you!)

Now - would you like a FREE meditation from me? It will help fuel that self-belief, so that you can become unstoppable! Grab your free meditation HERE - and enjoy!

You're doing brilliantly.

Big love,

Sophie x
